hello everyone
Hello all! My username is ONeill2310 but people can just refer to me as ONeill...unless there is someone who already goes by such a moniker? Well either way I just found this forum and hopefully this will be a good platform for me to begin programming. I have very very very little experience with programming. I think it was almost eight years ago since I took a class on programming in high school. In the class we did not go very deep into the subject and I barely remember the class after all these years. Sooo for all intensive purposes I am a complete newbie to all of this. I have had a fairly extensive experience with computers in general. Most of my knowledge has grown from building my own pcs and fixing my friend's. Ultimately I am hoping to grasp a better understanding of computers as a whole before I go back to school for a computer science degree. I look forward to chatting with you guys and learning as much as I can!
Oh yeah...I am hoping to eventually move over to game programming but that is just a side note of my ultimate goal which will be after many many deeper trips into the rabbit hole. |

RE: hello everyone
Welcome ONeill2310, and THX for registering !
If you want to start with programming, the first thing is to choose the language. Because you want to learn game programming, I think that C-based languages are the choice for you ! I suggest to start with C and than pass to C#. Again THX for registering, and enjoy time spent here ! There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line. RE: hello everyone
Hi there ONeill. Like our admin said, pick a language to work with...wait.... or pick more languages to work with. Make few simple programs in few languages that people suggest you, and eventually you will find one that suits you.
On this forum you can find tasks from very beginner ones all the way to competition tasks. ![]()

Welcome and feel free to ask anything about Information Technology !
And one small thing, make a thread in "Introductions", don't write posts in other people's introduction threads ! There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line.
