Hey, I'm new here. I took high school programming classes and all they teach you how to do is make calculators. I'm sick of that. So.... that's why I'm here.

If you wouldn't mind could you list your current programming skills? i.e Languages, which environments you used them on, and possibly some samples of your skills

Well.... I first learned Visual Basic which I hate, then C++, basically just string manipulation and calculations with both. I know a 'very' little bit of Java... haha

Well basically in high school there is not much to do.
You need to learn by yourself to make something useful.
So tell us in which programming language are you interested in ???
And don't be afraid to ask anything or to post your work !

Not bad, we have alot of members here who are excellent in these languages! so feel free to ask questions or help.
